Jeanette W. Cowan, 92, of Conyers, died Sept. 3. The daughter of the late Franklin Milton and Ettie Smith Watson, she was born in 1914 in Newton County. Mrs. Cowan lived most of her life in Rockdale County and was employed as a seamstress for 25 years by Pacific Overall Company. She was a member of the protestant faith. Mrs. Cowan enjoyed cooking, especially canning fig preserves, sewing and flower gardening in her younger years. She is preceded in death by husband Jim Henry Cowan and son Henry Donald Cowan.
Surviving are daughter Ettie Jane Cowan of Conyers; son and daughter-in-law Bobby and Virginia Cowan of Conyers; grandchildren Joey and Janet Couch of Covington, Michael and Patty Cowan Martin of Conyers; great-grandchildren Jesse Stephen Couch of Covington, Luke Cowan Martin of Conyers; sisters Betty Brown and Gladys Newman, both of Covington; cousins James Edward Waldrop of Conyers; several nieces, nephews and in-laws.
Graveside services will be held today, Sept. 5, at 11 a.m. in Lawnwood Memorial Park with the Rev. Billy Lewis officiating.
