Although it was a bye week for the Eagles, the time off still didn't stop them from working.

Several members of the Eastside Football Leadership Council and their teammates joined together Wednesday and formulated a game plan to assist with Hands on Newton and the Covington YMCA.

As part of "Hands on Georgia Week", players volunteered their time to help with the YMCA's landscaping project. The local athletes helped lay sod, plant trees and prepare flower beds for planting purposes.

Based on their hard work and dedication, the Eagles proved once again that they are winners both on and off the field.

Members included seniors Bo Childers, Cale Davis, Larenzo Echols, Johnny Norrington, Kaleb Pass, Jordan Ritchey, William White and Matt Yancey among others.
