Gregory Lynn Durden

Mr. Gregory Lynn Durden died Nov. 22. The son of Mr. Neb Durden Jr. and the late Mrs. Donna Sue Green Durden, he was born in 1962 in Social Circle. Mr. Durden was a graduate of Social Circle High School and worked with Universal Rundle and was currently employed at Alcovy High School.

Mr. Durden joined Greater Moses Baptist Church and was ordained as a deacon under the leadership of Pastor Joseph Williams. He enjoyed fishing, cooking, basketball and cars. Mr. Durden was preceded in death by brother Mr. Perez Durden.

Surviving are wife Mrs. Amelia Durden; father Mr. Neb (Tommie Mae) Durden of Covington; children Runtavious Quanta Malcom of Social Circle, Latish Durden and Cavonte Durden of Mansfield; sisters Delores Durden Parks, Fredia Durden, Barbara Durden and Cecily Jackson; brothers Stevie (Sharon) Durden, Tyson Jackson, Kingsley Jackson, all of Social Circle; grandmother Mrs. Evelyn Durden; mother-in-law Ms. Mary J. Durden of Mansfield; father-in-law Mr. James T. Shields of Indiana; brothers-in-law Louis (Bonnie) Shields III, Gregory (Yolonda) Durden of Texas, Dwayne (Beverly) Durden of Atlanta; seven aunts; five uncles; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Nov. 28 at Greater Moses Baptist Church, Rutledge, with the Rev. Joseph Williams officiating. Interment followed at Bennie Hill Cemetery, Social Circle.
