Campers from Charlie Elliot Wildlife Center's WILD Summer Overnight Camp experienced a real treat Tuesday as Wild Life Interpretive Specialist Pete Griffin gave the attendees a crash course in Georgia's native reptile population.
From the Georgia pine snake to the impressive alligator snapping turtle, participating youths were given the opportunity to experience and learn about these special creatures first hand.
The week-long Overnight Camp program was offered to children 11-14, bringing in a variety of biologists, technicians and interpretive specialists from the Georgia Department of Natural Resources to lead the kids in various outdoor learning classes and exercises.
