Francis Adel Cason Jr., 85, of Monticello, died Nov. 13 at Piedmont Hospital, Atlanta. The son of the late Francis Adel Cason and Bessie Shaw Chaffin Cason, he was born in Jasper County. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. He retired from Redstone Arsenal in Alabama as a military-instrument repairman in 1976 and returned to Jasper County. Mr. Cason was preceded in death by brother Lamar Chaffin Cason and nephew Ronnie Cason.

Surviving are wife DeBrater Brown Cason of Monticello; brother Clinton Pittard Cason of Monticello; nephews Mike Cason and Donnie Cason, both of Monticello.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, at Williams Payne Jordan Funeral Home.
