The R.L. Cousin Wolverine Football Alumni Association was officially organized Sunday at the Washington Street Community Center.

The group elected officers and immediately began making plans for the upcoming 40th anniversary of the team's record setting victory on Nov. 3, 1967 against Westside High School in Lincoln County.

The 102-0 score was a Georgia state high school football scoring record which still stands today. The historic game was played at the R.L. Cousin High School football field off of Geiger Street in Covington.

Vice-president for the association and former Wolverine tackle, Billy Harris said the group was working on getting the word out to other players to join their teammates in organizing the reunion.

Former Wolverine players can contact Harris at (678) 471-1990. The next meeting of the R.L. Cousin Wolverine Football Alumni Association will be held at 4 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 26 at the Washington Street Community Center.
