Ms. Emmie Mae Howard died Sept. 23. The daughter of the late Mr. Hulon (Zona Bell) Howard Sr., she was born in 1941 in Morgan County. She attended Carrie H. Taylor Grade School in Shady Dale and Mt. Gilead Baptist Church. Ms. Howard loved flowers and collecting angels. She was preceded in death by brother Mr. Hulon Howard Jr. and sister Ms. Eva Mae Howard.

Surviving are children Mr. and Mrs. Bennie (Pam) Howard Jr., Ms. Dianne Howard and Ms. Sandy A. Howard; grandson Antonio D. Howard, all of Newborn; sisters Mrs. Nellie H. Pitts, Mr. and Mrs. Michael (Sally) Williams, Covington; brother Mr. Comer and Evangelist Annette Howard, Shady Dale; special aunt Mr. and Mrs. Peter (Fannie Lee) Marks, Monticello; adopted son the Rev. Marcus C. Glover; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sept. 28 at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church, Eatonton, with the Rev. Terry Shepherd and the Rev. Marcus C. Glover officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
