The 2007 Eastside Girls Basketball Camp has been announced, and will last Monday thru Friday from 9 a.m. to noon at the Eastside High School gymnasium.
Led by Eastside girls head coach Jason Grooms and assistant coach Mathew Jackson, the camp combines their basketball coaching experience with former players to help operate the camp.
The camp will focus on teaching the basic fundamentals of basketball, with a heavy emphasis on ball handling and shooting. In addition, a wide variety of games and drills will also be used to make the learning environment fun and exciting for everyone.
The cost is $60 per camper. Registration forms may be picked up at Eastside High School. Payment and registration can be made on the first day of camp.
Each camp attendee will receive a T-shirt, as well.

Eastside football hosting annual golf tournament
The second annual Eastside Football/Golf Tournament will be held June 28 at Indian Creek Golf Club in Covington.
Registration begins at 11 a.m. with tee-off at noon. The cost is $300 per team, or $75 per person. The tournament includes 18 holes of golf, riding cart, lunch and awards.
Sponsorships are available for $500, which includes the entry of a four-person team, or $200 without a team entry. Proceeds will go toward the purchase of weights for the new Eastside High School field house.

Oxford College hosting tennis camp
The 2007 Oxford College Summer Tennis Camp for ages 4-17 is still available for athletes who wish to register.
The clinic is a weekly event held on the campus and lasts until June 29; however, participants may sign up by the day, as well. Half days are from 9 a.m. to noon, while full days (intermediate and advanced players only) range from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
The cost is $50 for one daily full day or $30 for a half day. The weekly full day rate is $240, while the weekly half day cost is $125. (Lunch is not included in the full day price.)
In addition, each athlete will receive an Oxford camp T-shirt.
Brandon Feldman, Oxford head tennis coach and athletic director, is the camp director and instructor, as well as several collegiate players. The Eagles are the 2006 and 2007 NJCAA Division III Men's National Tennis Champions.
