In a case of man versus nature, a deer thoroughly disrupted a Newton County Sheriff's deputy's patrol Tuesday afternoon.

While on patrol traveling North on Gum Creek Road, Deputy Patrick Gilbert reportedly spotted a deer on the right side of the road. Gilbert attempted to brake, but the deer entered the north bound land and struck the side of his patrol car, Unit 033.

Gilbert stopped his patrol car and notified dispatch of the incident. The front end, right headlight and hood were all damaged.

Georgia State Patrol was called in to work the scene. B&H Wrecker Service towed the patrol car from the scene.
