Mr. David Winton Jernigan, 57, of Covington, died June 11. the son of the late John Lee and Sara Muggridge Jernigan, he was born in 1951 in Athens. Mr. Jernigan was the owner of Nu-Da Sales and a faithful member of Shiloh United Methodist Church. He was president of United Methodist Men's Club at Shiloh and a member of the Covington Elks Lodge. He was an NASCAR race fan and enjoyed fishing trips with family and friends.

Surviving are wife Judy of Covington; daughter Leigh Jernigan of Hayesville, N.C.; sons John Jernigan and Charles Jernigan, both of Covington; stepdaughter and son-in-law Jina and Rick Caceres of Mansfield; brothers John Chip Jernigan of Conyers, Paul Jernigan of Woodstock; grandchildren Joseph, Kassie, Cain, Sahr, Katrina, Hailee and Emilee; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. June 14 in the chapel of Wheeler Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Nickolich and the Rev. Mary Wolfe officiating. Entombment will be at Lawnwood Memorial Parks. Flowers will be accepted or, in lieu of flowers, make donations to Shiloh United Methodist Church.
