David L. Eicken, 48, of Covington, died July 26. Mr. Eicken was employed with Standard Office Systems in Duluth. The family wishes to thank the staff at Newton Medical Center and Emory Neurological Intensive Care for their concern and care. Mr. Eicken was preceded in death by his father-in-law Carl Rodgers.

Surviving are wife Jolene Rodgers Eicken of Covington; parents Henry and Irene Eicken of Bradenton, Fla.; brother and sister-in-law Jim and susan Eicken of Brandenton; sister and brother-in-law Janette and Alan Janssen of Lawrenceville; mother-in-law Gladys Rodgers of Parnell, Iowa; sisters-in-law Sara Potter, Brooke Rodgers, Gina Maas, Melissa Mungai, Elizabeth Rodgers; brothers-in-law Larry Rodgers, Scott Rodgers, Rick Rodgers, Jeff Rodgers; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles; and last, but not least, his dog Bailey.

Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, July 30, at Christ the Lord Lutheran Church with the Rev. Julie Ehlers-King officiating. The family will receive visitors today, July 29, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, you may make donations to Newton Medical Center in memory of David L. Eicken.
