Charlie Standard, 88, of Covington died Aug. 22. Daughter of the late George and Hattie Dial, she was a member of Sewell United Methodist Church and enjoyed sewing, cooking and working in her flower garden. Mrs. Standard will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Survivors include her husband, Jack Standard of Covington; son and daughter-in-law Danny and Sarah Standard of Oxford; grandchildren Issac and Keri Standard of Oxford and Sarah Standard, of Athens; great-grandson Sawyer Standard of Oxford; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be held Monday, Aug. 25, 2 p.m., at the Access Road chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, with the Rev. Danny Standard and the Rev. Dick Harris officiating. Internment will follow in Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
