Mr. Charles Eugene "Chuck" Smith, 72, of Conyers died June 10. The son of the late Virgil E. and Rose Grant Smith, he was born in Apple Grove, W. Va., in 1935. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Army. He moved to Rockdale County from Illinois in 1973. Mr. Smith was a past member of Masonic Lodge No. 704 and worked at the Rockdale Food Bank. He is preceded in death by parents and sisters Betty Elliott and Mary Ann Beauseau.

Surviving are wife Joyce Smith of Conyers; daughter Theresa Smith Green of Conyers; son and daughter-in-law Young and Kyung Hee Lee of Houston, Texas; grandchildren Jayson Michael and Amanda Green of Virginia Beach, Va., Christopher Lee Green of Conyers, Christopher Lee of Houston, Texas, and Douglas Lee Of Houston; brothers Jack Smith of Floriday, Ron Harvey, Bob Smith, Rick Smith and Don Smith, all of Ohio; sisters Rose England of South Carolina and Beverly Khun of Ohio.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. today, June 13, in the chapel of Wheeler Funeral ome with Nate Garmin officiating. Flowers accepted or donations to the American Cancer Society.
