Benny Lee Wren

Mr. Benny Lee Wren died Jan. 23 after a long bout with cancer. The son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin (Hester Pickett) Wren, he was born in 1956 in Augusta. Mr. Wren was one of nine children and was loved for his humor and larger than life presence. He will be missed. Mr. Wren was preceded in death by parents Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Wren, brother Mr. Albert Wren and sister Ms. Vickie Williams.

Surviving are wife Mrs. Annie Wren; son Mr. Oliver W. Wren; stepsons Mr. Anthony Stevenson, Mr. David Stevenson, Mr. Kenneth Stevenson; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brother Mr. James Wren, Covington; sisters Ms. Kathi Rodriguez, Douglasville, Mr. and Mrs. Steve (Debbie) Khazali, Dawsonville, Mr. and Mrs. Mark (Marie) Bruce, Covington, Mr. and Mrs. Tim (Jeannine) Digby, Covington, Mr. and Mrs. Allen (Judy) Watson, Douglasville; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Jan. 27 at Pleasant View Baptist Church with the Rev. Andy Parker officiating. Interment followed at Pickett Family Cemetery, Covington.
