Quick promotion

It was just last month that we wrote an editorial wishing Dave Bernd good luck in his new position as the chamber’s retail recruiter.

We now, again, offer him best wishes. But this time it’s in his new role as the Newton County Chamber of Commerce’s head of the office of economic development.

We believe that this appointment was a good choice by the chamber.

In another move, Serra Phillips was named the new retail recruiter for the chamber. This is a big step for Phillips, and a lot of hope for our economic future rests on her shoulders.

We believe Phillips has the enthusiasm and personality to overcome her inexperience. Again, we think the chamber made a good choice in selecting her.
