Covington Mayor Ronnie Johnston met with members of the GFWC Service Guild of Covington for the signing of a proclamation declaring that March will be known as Youth Art Month.

The proclamation partners the National Council for Art Education and the National Council for Arts with Covington and Newton County Schools, hoping to encourage public support of quality student art programs.

Johnston signed the proclamation and copies were posted around town at prominent places such as Newton County Library, City Hall and the Chamber of Commerce.
