Oxford celebrates Schwartz's retirement

(Darryl Welch | The Covington News)

OXFORD, Ga. – Citizens and local leaders gathered at Oxford City Hall Tuesday afternoon to wish retiring City Manager Bob Schwartz well in his retirement.

Schwartz is retiring June 30 after a career in public service that spans over 40 years. He came to Oxford in 2012.

Those in attendance enjoyed cake and punch in the city hall community room as Schwartz was presented gifts, including a plaque thanking him for his years of service and a watch.

As he thanked Oxford’s citizens and elected officials, he also passed along his pocket sized notepad to Assistant City Manager Matthew Pepper telling him, “You’ll need this.”
