       Deacon Johnnie Vaughn, Jr. was born on June 25, 1953, in Covington, Georgia. He was the oldest child of the late Mr. & Mrs. Johnie B. (Shirley) Vaughn, Sr.

      Deacon Vaughn joined Bethel Bara Baptist Church at an early age. He served faithfully in various positions at the church.

     He was called from labor to rest, on Monday, August 5, 2014.

      He is survived by one daughter, Mr. & Mrs. Demetris (Melissa) Mathis, one grandchild, Demetris Mathis, one brother, Mr. & Mrs. Earl (Cecelia) Vaughn, one sister, Ms. Cheryl Vaughn, nieces, Mr. & Mrs. Jay (Lakita) Morgan, Ms. Markita Vaughn, Ms. Earlisha Vaughn  and Ms. Chelsea Ellington, and a host of aunts, uncles, family and friends.
