                                Obituary
      Mr. James Parks Smith  was born June 3, 1946 to the late Mr. Willie Henry Smith and Mrs. Ruth  Emma Parks Smith in Greenville, Georgia. He was preceded in death by one son, Mr. James D. Smith, three brothers; Mr. Robert L. Smith, Mr. Irvin L. Smith and Mr. Willie H. Smith, one sister, Mrs. Mary R. Freeman.

      James  was educated in the Greenville School System. He was a member of Branch Hebron Baptist Church. His first job was feeding horses for Mr. Jack  Allen.
 
      James married Ms. Annie Grace Nelson on November 20, 1965. He enlisted and served in the United States Army from December 15, 1965 until December 4, 1967.

      James worked at Delta Airlines for 32 years and was known by his co-workers as "J.P." He loved his job and showed true dedication until his retirement on October 31, 2001. He enjoyed training his dogs, cars, fishing, gadgets, and performing lawn care services. He took pride in his yard and the yard work he did for others.

      James loved his family and provided the way God intended. He also loved each and everyone of his nieces, nephews, and cousins. They were all SPECIAL to him.
 
      James will forever be remembered and cherished by his loving wife, Mrs. Annie Grace Smith, six children; Ms. Felita M. Smith, Ms. Deborah L. Smith (Tony), Mr. & Mrs. James (Tonya) Jackson, Mr. Ashley D. Nelson (Brooklyn), Mr. Michael Parham and Mr. Terrence Parham, grandchildren; Joshua D. Smith, Endia N. Davis, Santonio L. England, Jayden H. Jackson, Saniyah L. England and Toneshia England, a grand pet, Jaz, two brothers, Mr. & Mrs. Charles U. (Cecelia) Smith and Mr. Madison L. Smith, sister-in-law, Mrs. Rachel Smith, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many many friends.


Acknowledgements

The Smith family wishes to thank all our friends and neighbors for extending their words of kindness, prayers, telephone calls, visits, gifts and other acts of love which have been of considerable comfort to us during the illness and passing of our love one. May God pour special blessings to those who worked diligently to assist him throughout his illness. The Smith family appreciates your labor of Love.
