Conyers Police, FBI make arrest in April armed robbery at Conyers jewelry store

/

ATLANTA - According to a news release from David J. LeValley, special agent in charge of FBI Atlanta Field Office, two arrests were made Wednesday related to an April 2017 armed robbery of a Conyers jewelry store.

On Wednesday, Cephos Leyon “Jamal” White, 29, of Sandy Springs, and Sandrika Denise Sears, also known as Nubian Monae, 31, of Decatur, were arrested without incident in Sandy Springs and Decatur by FBI agents and officers/detectives of the Conyers Police Department (CPD) on arrest warrants issued via federal criminal complaints charging them both with violation of Title 18 USC 1951, Hobbs Act/Robbery, and Title 18 USC 924(c) and 2, Use of Firearm during a Crime.

It is alleged in the federal criminal complaint that, on April 18, White and Sears entered Kay Jewelers, located at 1620 Dogwood Ave., in Conyers and, at gunpoint, robbed the store of jewelry valued in excess of $700,000.

Both White and Sears were afforded their initial appearances in front of U.S. Magistrate Judge Catherine M. Salinas in Atlanta Wednesday.

This case is being worked by the FBI and the CPD.
