Newton County high school football coaches speak at Lions Club

At Ashford Springs Park, late Thursday evening, the Covington Lion’s Club hosted Newton County’s high school head football coaches. At the dinner, the coaches mingled with members of the community, and discussed different things with each other, such as the new IMPACT program. Newton head coach Terrance Banks, Eastside head coach Rick Hurst and Alcovy coach Kirk Hoffman spoke on the upcoming season, the ugliness of recruiting, how the game has changed and fielded questions about their players from fans.
