A day of golf

Even if Mother Nature doesn't know it is Spring! Just ask Elgin Childress of Covington he who says "spring means golf." Elgin dressed in a long sleeve shirt topped with a flees hoodie ignores the brisk wind and below fifty degree temps to practice his swing at The Oaks Golf Course located on Brown Bridge Rd in Covington.

Kyle Butler an Oaks employee standing behind the counter greeting the golfers says: "the weather rarely discourages anyone from coming out and playing a round I've seen people play in the rain." Alan David studies his shot then quietly putts watching as the ball stops a few inches short of the hole. "This is a great way to relive stress." Alan said I'm on the course at least once a week.

Al Adams on the other hand is here everyday. "nothing gets in the way of my golf game, people here call me everyday Al" he told me. Today there were about twenty or so people on the course playing chatting and having fun. No it's not always warm or pleasant outside but one thing is for sure there's always a golfer on the course.
