Armed robbery reported in Covington

COVINGTON, Ga. – Investigators with the Covington Police Department (CPD) are looking for the person who robbed a Covington gas station Monday night.

According to a CPD incident report, a male dressed in all black robbed the Exxon Food Mart at 9123 Hwy 278 at gunpoint shortly after 10:30 p.m. May 29. According to the report, the perpetrator got away with multiple days’ receipts.

A witness reportedly saw the subject exit the store and get into a dark-colored, four-door vehicle with another person driving that was parked at the side of the building. The vehicle left the parking lot driving toward Interstate 20 on Hwy 142. According to the report, police found items matching the description of clothing worn by the robber on Lochridge Boulevard next to Chili’s Grill and Bar.
