Suspect arrested 6 years after robbery

A Covington man is in the custody of the Rockdale County Sheriff's Office for an armed robbery committed six years ago.

Christopher Wilson, 25, was transferred to Rockdale County jail from another prison so could face charges of aggravated assault and armed robbery for allegedly stealing from the Waffle House at 2101 Salem Road in the early morning hours of Sept. 22, 2008.

Wilson, described as a black male standing 5-feet and 7-inches, allegedly pointed a firearm at a male Lithonia resident and female Conyers resident who were in the restaurant at the time. Wilson allegedly also used the firearm to force the woman, who was a Waffle House employee, to give him the cash from the register.

After she opened the cash tray, Wilson allegedly took the entire tray and ran out of the front door. According to the deputy report, the suspect can be seen on surveillance video exiting the store carrying what appears to be a semi-automatic handgun and getting into a white vehicle on the passenger side with a second subject as the getaway driver.

According to the RCSO, Wilson had warrants for his arrest in other counties and was arrested in Henry County on April 26, 2008 for unrelated charges.
