Library kicks off summer reading

The Newton County Library System is holding its annual Summer Reading Program and giving prizes to every summer reader who completes the instruction.

The program is available for children up to age 17 and runs from June 1-July 31.

Here's what to do:

-Visit any branch of the Newton County Library System between June 1 and July 31 to register and pick up a Summer Reading Log.

-Record any read books on the log.

-After eight books are read — one book for each week of the program — bring the log to the library and receive a prize and a certificate.
