If the Republican primary was held today, who would you vote for to represent us in the race for the District 112 seat?

This has become worthless, the votes change every time you check, even after just a few minutes. Clearly the numbers are being manipulated by someone who has cracked the system of only voting once a day.

You maybe right armydawg. There are 3 people in this house who will be voting for conservative Aaron Brooks but it would only let us cast one vote, i guess because we are on the same internet connection. Then again maybe Ester Fleming does not quite have this election sewed up as many in his campaign believes.

For anyone with any history in politics, straw polls stroke the ego but are null and void of real meaning. Ask State Insurance Commissioner Ralph Hudgens how many straw polls he won in his statewide race (none), Secretary of State Brian Kemp (few if any) and other candidates as well. In fact, it gives the winning candidate a false sense of security that can be real trouble later on.

aschlum1: March 12, 2014 8:30 a.m.

We could only vote once, but there is a family of 5 that will be voting for Aaron Brooks in May!

bordercollie505 you are correct on Hudgens and Kemp but i will refer to the Randy Travis song On The Other Hand. On the other hand there have been many many many who have won straw polls that went on to win primaries and general elections. To many to name here but you will see if you do your research.

This guy voted for Aaron Brooks yesterday and today! I made sure my friends and family did too! A lot of people like the idea of new blood in the Republican Party and under the Gold Dome. The Good Ole Boys in Newton are the only ones that seem to have a problem with that!

bordercollie505: March 13, 2014 8:14 a.m.

Thank you Newton Newbie for proving my point. You said you have voted twice in the same poll. How many others have voted two, three or more times here? Its worthless and any candidate that crows about winning straw polls is fooling him/herself and acting like a newbie.

mgh1966: March 13, 2014 2:14 p.m.

You are right the votes must being played with because I cannot think of 212 people who would vote for Ester jr.

NewtonNewbie: March 13, 2014 4:25 p.m.

bordercollie505, I believe it's standard practice in polls like these to vote once each day that the poll is open. For someone that doesn't think this straw poll should be taken seriously, you sure are paying a lot of attention to it!
