I do not believe the Judge should have resigned. As an African-American, and a recent transplant, I believe as Councilwoman Goodman stated in the newspaper. However, I do believe the Covington News slants their coverage in a conservative manner, particularly in the opinion page. My concern when I read the newspaper is Newton County’s push to bring in jobs, yet this newspaper consistently projects an image less world view and counter progressive.

When is it a crime to speak the truth? If you were to look at all the TV news archives on crimes that are committed you would find that the majority are being committed by YOUNG AFRICAN-AMERICAN MALES. This is not an opinion it is a FACT. If this offends the African-American population then they should take responsibility for that fact rather than complain about someone speaking the truth. As far as the comment about the little brown skin Hispanic brothers, that appears to also be the truth.
If there was more being done to address the real problems this country faces rather than attack those that speak the truth about those problems we might expect to see the real problems get fixed. Judge Hathorn, you have my support 100% for the reason you tell it like it is and don't side step the real facts. We need more judges like yourself at every level of the government in this country. HATS OFF TO JUDGE HATHORN!!!
