I'm not at all surprised that the TSPLOST went down. Besides the fact we're already overtaxed, the way highway projects are handled in Georgia doesn't bring true value. Far more work is done (and money spent) than it takes to gain needed road capacity. We get platinum projects, not asphalt projects. The recent Highway 142, 278 project makes it obvious that the DOT's constituency is the contractors, not the people of Georgia.
The only way the corrupt politicians get a tax increase is when they call for a special election like the last one where only the government worker can vote.
