Does the local tourism industry, including filming, bike races and 5ks, improve or detract from Covington’s quality of life?

Seeing how the movie industry brings in tourist who spend money and take up no resources I think it's GREAT that they are here, some of you, a very vocal few act like it is going to kill you to make an extra turn to get around the square, it is a grid system after all so it isn't hard to navigate to your destination, and what ever business is claiming that you are losing customers I find that hard to believe, any given day I ride past the square and the shops aren't "booming", a lot of them are empty on non filming days, maybe it's what you sell and not the movie industry hurting your business, movies have been filmed here since the 1950's so why should they stop just because a few of you want to boo hoo.
