Coolidge Tisdale died Jan. 20. The son of the late the Rev. Peter Edward Tisdale and Mrs. Celeste Smith Tisdale, he was born in 1923 in Penny Farms, Fla. He retired from the United States Navy after 20 years of service. Following his retirement, he was employed by Jacksonville Shipyard with 19 years of service. Mr. Tisdale was a member of Greater Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, Callahan, Fla., where he served as trustee for a number of years. He later joined and attended Shiloh Metropolitan Baptist Church, Jacksonville, Fla., until his health failed.

Surviving are wife Elizabeth Wright Tisdale; sons Harold Tisdale Sr., (Denise), Coolidge Tisdale (Reneé) of Covington; daughter Pamela Tisdale of Tallahassee; sister Wilhelmina (Joseph) James of Orange Park, Fla.; brother Peter Edward (Elease) Tisdale of Philadelphia, Pa.; grandchildren Harold Tisdale Jr., Brandon Tisdale, Myia Tucker, Caleb Tisdale, Noah Tisdale, Bethaney Tisdale, Nyasha Tisdale; step-grandfather Nelson Grand, Jacksonville; aunt Marjorie (Robert) Manning, Jacksonville; sisters-in-law Hazel Tisdale, Jacksonville, Elnora (Arthur) Edmondson, Jesup, Lillie Lane, Lexington Park, Md., Jean Wright and Bobbie Wright, both of Brunswick, Jacqueline Writhe, Screven;, Chryell (Robert) George, East Hampton, Mass.; brothers-in-law Eddie (Lula) Wright, Feeding Hill, Mass;, Charles (Oralee) Wright, Waycross, Lawrence (Linda) Wright, New Castle, Del., Kelton Wright, Donald (Linda) Wright, Brunswick; goddaughters Brenda Ballard, Rozett Pickens, Christy Wiley, Summa Wiley; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Jan. 25 at Springfield Baptist Church, Conyers, with Pastor Eric W. Lee Sr., Pastor Lawrence Wright, Minister Billie Cox and Minister Barbara Barron officiating. Interment followed Jan. 27 in Jesup.
