Tillman Allums of Covington, passed away January 30, 2010, at the age of 80. Mr. Allums was a faithful member of Julia A. Porter United Methodist Church, and active in both the choir and the United Methodist Men’s Club. He was a proud United States veteran, and served 8 years in the Army National Guard. Mr. Allums was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin Mitchell and Cora Ethel Wall Allums. Survivors include his wife, Mary Piper Allums of Covington; sons and daughter-in-law, Larry E. Allums of Hawkinsville, GA, Monte M. and Susan B. Allums of Olive Branch, MS; grandchildren, Erin Allums, Jacob Allums; several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services for Mr. Allums were held Tuesday, February 2, 2 PM, at the Floyd Street Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, with Rev. James A. Moore and Rev. John Ozley officiating, and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. Flowers are accepted, or donations may be made to Julia A.
