BBC Bike-A-Thon 2013

Each year, Berean Baptist Church takes up an offering for the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering. The full amount of this offering goes to missionaries associated with the North American Mission Board for salaries and ministry supplies. This in turn enables missionaries to help others hear the message of Christ in hopes of them responding in faith to his offer of salvation.

Richards Chapel UMC to celebrate 143 years

Richards Chapel United Methodist Church in Covington will be celebrating their 143rd church anniversary on Sunday, Oct. 2. The church also recently welcomed the first female pastor in the church's history, the Rev. Maria Church-Johnson (pictured above). The church also falls under the district of the Rev. Sharma Lewis, the first black woman district superintendent in the ADOX district and the second black woman district superintendent in the North Georgia Conference.

Welcoming the new residents

Allen Memorial UMC welcomed new and returning students from Oxford College on Aug. 28. The students were recognized and were able to share their talents in morning worship. Three students sang in the choir, while two others played the flute and participated in the hand bell choir. The Chaplain of Oxford College, the Rev. The blessing of the backpacks

On Sunday, Covington First United Methodist Church will hold their annual Blessing of the Backpacks Service. Students of all ages, teachers, administrators and all school employees are invited to bring their Backpacks to worship on Sunday morning to a special service to pray for a great school year. Each person will receive a tag to attach to their backpack that says, "The church family of FUMC loves them and are praying for them."

Adult Bible Class

Frank B. Turner will lead the adult Bible class at the upcoming Salem Campmeeting, which begins Friday, July 8, at the historic Salem campground.The adult class will be held 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Monday, July 11, through Friday, July 15, at the Salem Hotel. The 183rd campmeeting runs July 8-15.
