Emory at Oxford's mens' tennis team finished seventh in the NJCAA Division III national tournament held at Collin County Community College in Plano Texas on Friday.
Justin Tien, a member of the Oxford College Class of 2011 and a rising junior at Emory College, has been designated by the NJCAA as an Athlete of Distinction and winner of the association's Exemplary Academic Achievement Award. He was a member of the Oxford College men's basketball team, averaging 3.4 points per game and shooting 40 percent from the three-point range.
Oxford College tennis made history again, but this time it was the girls' team. After bringing the National Junior College Athletic Association III men's championship back to Covington in 2006, 2007 and 2009, head coach Brandon Feldman guided the women's team to their first national title last week in Tucson, AZ.
