What a difference others can make when facing a life crisis

I do not believe we were created to face life alone. It is said that humans among all creation needs the nurture of the family the longest. When Christ began his ministry on earth it was not given to individuals but a community of believers. Ask any running back in football how much fun is it to try to run if there is no one blocking for you. Our very nature is that we need each other.

Who in their right mind?

I love the Southern question that begins, "Who In Their Right Mind..." It's such a well-known phrase that we don't even have to finish it into a full sentence. Just saying, "Who In Their Right Mind?" is enough to tell the listener that someone - somewhere - has done something really, really stupid. Who in their right mind? Doesn't that bring back memories? "Who in their right mind would paint their house Pepto Bismol pink?" I heard that one as a kid, and it's haunted me ever since. I hate to think that someone might drive by my ...

Have you ever thought?

What of the past do we keep? Why is it important for us to remember what events happened before our time? We are much like the turtle found on top of the fence post; we know one thing for sure: that turtle didn't get there by himself. Yesterday is the one day we cannot change. Whatever our history is, it is our history. And by remembering our past we learn valuable lessons as well as appreciation for those who sacrificed for us.

Where did that name come from?

Have you ever thought, "How did that town or river or county get that name?" Have you ever noticed that once a name is used many times it just seems to fit?
