GAMETIME

The popular Newton County sports/family entertainment center, GameTime, will have its grand reopening on Monday, January 19. From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. families will have the opportunity to enjoy themselves at the center, with free admission. The entrance closes at 4 p.m., but the activities don't stop until 5 p.m.

Gridiron gang

The Newton County Recreation 7-8 All-Star football team played in the Gridiron Bowl Saturday, Nov. 22 and beat Macon United in two blow-out games. The score of the first game was 14-0 and the second game was under the lights of Homer Sharp Stadium as Newton County won 25-0. The team played in Macon this weekend for their next tournament where they will play five or six teams in attempt to bring home another trophy. Indian Creek Open at Ashton Hills

The Indian Creek Open is back. After a one-year hiatus, the tournament returns to Ashton Hills for the 10th time. Traditionally, the Nema-sponsored Indian Creek Open has been the largest and most successful golf tournament to be held each year in Newton County.
