Rockdale, Ga., Post 77 opened its elimination game against Fort Pierce, Fla., Post 358 in the Southeast Regional on Friday on a roll.
Rockdale went through their regular season, and Georgia state championship schedule with a 30-1 record, but it didn't prevent it from becoming the visiting team during its opening game in the American Legion baseball Southeast Regional at Riley Park in Sumter, S.C. Thursday.
Wednesday night marked the first time a Georgia team has won a Dixie Boys World Series in Newton County in the five times the area has hosted the event, dating back to 1993.
