However, that wasn't all that was ailing the Eagles. Sophomore starting running back Eric Stokes and backup Andrew Henderson were both sidelined with injuries, however Eastside played well and had a chance to win before losing in overtime, 27-21.
Other than a stellar fifth inning that saw Newton score all five of its runs, Eastside - rocking the pink unis on Monday - owned the game and the rivalry this season making them 2-0 to finish the series against its rival, as the Lady Eagles ran away with a 13-5 victory.

Catherine Lee made history on Tuesday, as she was the first softball player to have her jersey (No.27) retired by Eastside High School. We sat down with Lee for a few minutes to talk about what it meant for her, life after college and if she'd ever consider coaching.
