Eagles blowout Mt. Zion/Lady Eagles wings cut in lopsided loss

Before the holiday break, Eastside basketball hosted a Region 4-AAAA matchup as they hosted the Mt. Zion Bulldogs. The story for both games was certainly identical as it included two lopsided finishes. With the Lady Bulldogs dominating the Lady Eagles 59-19 and the Eastside boys flying past Mt. Zion 83-49 on Tuesday evening.

Eagles earn All-region honors

The results are in and 12 Eagles were named All-region first or second team while a host of others were honorable mentions. Eastside finished the season with a 7-3 record that ended with a loss to Griffin in overtime keeping the Eagles out of the playoffs.

Eagles in college

The beginning of every year for high school football players and college football coaches, is highlighted by National Signing Day. Over the years Eastside had had many kids sign and go to college to play football on an athletic scholarship. Current Eagle head coach Troy Hoff compiled a list of some of Eastside's current college football players.

Lady Eagles earn All-Region honors

Eastside softball saw five of its players selected as members of the 4-AAAA All-Region first or second team. The Lady Eagles held a banquet on Tuesday to honor some of their own and the award winners were: Molly Moon (Coach's Award), Brittany Medlin (Offensive Player of the Year), Bailey Stewart (Golden Glove), McKenzie Powell (Eagle Award), Caitlin Ray (MVP). Ray also made the Georgia Dugout Club All-Star team. Only seniors can make the list and only 80 players in the state were selected.
