Ms. Linda D. Saxton Smith died July 26. The daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Clary (Ruby Stanley) Saxton, she was born in Bamberg, S.C., in 1952. The family moved to Georgia in 1956, and at an early age Ms. Smith joined Bethlehem Baptist Church in Covington. She was a dedicated employee of ISS (International Storage Systems) for many years until her health declined. Ms. Smith was a thoughtful, caring and loving person. She was there for everyone in his or her time of need. She loved entertaining, planning family gatherings, fishing, dancing and singing.
Mr. Arthur L. "Boopie" Brown died July 24. The son of Mollie Byrd Brown and the late Robert Sanders Brown, he was born in Chattanooga, Tenn., in 1946. He was preceded in death by sister Geraldine "Pat" Hull. Mr. Brown was raised in Covington and attended R. L. Manda worked as a medical receptionist for Rockdale Family Practice for 2 years; and was a member of The Church at Covington. She enjoyed writing poetry and loved music. Manda liked riding on the back of motorcycles, and loved going to drag races. She loved life, and was a loving and devoted mother.
Lee Seal of Covington, formerly of Russellville, AL, passed away July 13, 2011, at the age of 74. He retired from Vulcan Materials, in Conyers, after 19 years of service. He enjoyed cooking and working in his vegetable garden. Mr. Seal was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Mr. LaJaunie enjoyed fishing, talking, and was a LSU and Saints fan. He owned Lawrence's Barber Shop for 12 years.
