Dr. Walter A. "Beau" Beaumont, III, of Conyers, passed away September 19, 2011, at the age of 59 following an extended illness. The son of the late Walter A. Beaumont, Jr., and Virginia Wayne Beaumont, Beau was born in Atlanta on December 30, 1951. Rufus Wilson Jackson of Covington, GA died WednesdaySeptember 14, 2011 at Newton Medical Center.He was born on February 13, 1933 in Social Circle, GA to Maylon and Clifford Mae Swords Jackson. He was a member of the Covington Elks Club, Golden Fleece Masonic Lodge and was retired from Lithonia Lighting. He loved Nascar Racing and watching his great grandchildren play sports.

She drove a school bus in DeKalb County for 28 years and is a member of Harvest Baptist Church in Covington. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Mrs. Mildred Kitchens Watkins, age 94, a longtime resident of Oxford passed away September 10, 2011.She was born March 4, 1917 in Atlanta, GA to the late Thomas Watson and Ida Mae Wiley Kitchens.Mrs. Watkins was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who enjoyed cooking, sewing and gardening.She was predeceased by her husband of 71 years Mr. Wilburn Watkins, her daughter, Juanita Watkins George and her granddaughter, Tina George Carter.
Mrs. Joyce L. Sorrell passed away peacefully at her home in Oxford, Thursday, September 8, 2011. She was born in Atlanta, GA on February 24, 1933. She was a member of Oxford Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Joyce enjoyed watching NASCAR, and the Atlanta Braves; she loved hummingbirds, was a wonderful cook, and loved spending time with her family. Mrs. Sorrell was preceded in death by her husband, Richard L. Sorrell, daughter, Evelyn (Lynn) Daniel, and her parents, Leland L. and Elizabeth Lee Milam.

Malone, age 82, of Covington passed away September 5, 2011 at Newton Medical Center.She was born June 10, 1929 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Edgar O. and Mary Raper Culbertson.Mrs. Malone loved to travel, read and was a great bowler teaching many members of her family to bowl.She was preceded in death by her son, Michael O'Neal Malone and her granddaughter, Angie Marie Watson.

E.R. Sammons of Oxford, passed away September 5, 2011, at the age of 84. Mr. Sammons was a faithful member of The Baptist Tabernacle, and enjoyed gospel music concerts. He was a technical and mechanical innovator; and a great auto mechanic. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, watching NASCAR, and even enjoyed drag racing when he was younger. Mr. Sammons loved his family dearly, and was an excellent grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ethan Ramey and Annie Rooney (McWaters) Sammons.
