Betty J. Mallett, of Covington, passed away January 10, 2014, at the age of 82. A homemaker and mother of three, she loved her family dearly. She volunteered with the Hospital Auxiliary and was involved with the Women's Club and PTA. She enjoyed amateur art and gardening. Mrs. Mallett was preceded in death by her parents, William T. and Lelia (Harrison) Martin; and brothers, Wayne H. Martin and James Martin.
Marshalene Cromer Love, of Covington, died Thursday, January 9, 2014, at Piedmont Hospital. She was born June 1, 1937, in Royston, Ga., to Jim and Gertrude Cromer.
Willie Maude Williams Haymons, 87, of Mansfield, died June 15. A native of Telfair County, where she lived most of her life, Mrs. Haymons was the daughter of the late Chester and Maude Locke Williams. She was the wife of the late George Washington Haymons Jr. Mrs. Haymons was an avid gardener, a homemaker and a member of Dodge's Chapel United Methodist Church.

James "Buddy" Price, 74, of Monroe, died on June 14. The son of the late Brazie W. Price and Linda Nicholson Price, he was born in Cobb County in 1935. He was preceded in death by his wife Betty Faye Carter Price and his grandson Paul Autry.
Surviving are his daughter and son-in-law Marcia and Marvin Autry of Monroe; grandchildren Steven Autry of Monroe, Jason Autry of Covington; and great-grandson Lane Paul Autry.
Danes Mr. William (Bill) Danes, 45 of Jackson, Ga. died June 11, 2009 in Augusta, Ga.. Bill loved his family dearly. He enjoyed NASCAR and his Harley Davidson Motorcycle. Bill was predeceased by his father Carl E. Danes and is survived by his wife of 2 ½ years, Shawn Piper Danes of Jackson. Mr. James "Doc" R. Smith, 78, died May 24. The son of the late Sarah Smith, he was born in Newton County Feb. 15, 1931. He was preceded in death by his mother.

Mr. William L. (Bill) Pratt, 92 of Hendersonville, TN., formerly of Covington died May 29, 2009 in Hendersonville. Mr. Pratt was born in Crawford, Ga. to the late Alan L. & Viola Burton Pratt. He operated his own television repair business for many years in Covington and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He proudly served his country in the Marines during WWII.
