Betty J. Mallett, of Covington, passed away January 10, 2014, at the age of 82. A homemaker and mother of three, she loved her family dearly. She volunteered with the Hospital Auxiliary and was involved with the Women's Club and PTA. She enjoyed amateur art and gardening. Mrs. Mallett was preceded in death by her parents, William T. and Lelia (Harrison) Martin; and brothers, Wayne H. Martin and James Martin.

Mrs. Margaret Blomberg, age 92, of Conyers formerly of Stone Mountain passed away Thursday, January 9, 2014. She was born July 22, 1921 in Glasgow, Scotland to the late Ebenezer and Margaret Barrie Bauchop. Mrs. Blomberg retired at age 72 from Bank of America. After her retirement she worked for ten years as the church secretary at Prospect United Methodist where she was also a member. She was born in Porterdale on July 27, 1943 to the late Horace and Magnolia Barnes Lunsford. Saleta retired from Bellsouth and was a loving mother, grandmother and friend. Mr. Elisha "Junior" Hardy, age 79, of Covington passed away at his residence Wednesday, January 8, 2014. He was born October 8, 1934 in Jasper Georgia to the late Elisha Frances and Lillie Mae Carter Hardy. Mr. Hardy was an avid outdoors man who enjoyed gardening, animals, especially feeding the fish in the pond behind his house, and enjoyed going to flea markets and thrift stores. Bobby Nichols, a longtime resident of Mansfield, died April 25 at Social Circle Nursing and Rehab. The son of the late Luther Nichols and Ellie Johnston Nichols, he was born in Newton County in 1929. Mr. Nichols owned and operated a barbershop on Ga. Highway 162 for 37 years, was a member of Mansfield United Methodist Church and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
