Mittie Lou Wilkerson Owenby of Lawrenceville, passed away November 21, 2011, at Gwinnett Medical Center. She was 83 years old at the time of her death. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Lamar Owenby; parents, Charlie Autry and Mary Grace (Barnett) Wilkerson; sister, Jo Ann Sims; and brother, Gerald Wilkerson. Mrs. Owenby was employed by Southern Bell for several years, and retired from the State of Georgia. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Covington, Eastern Star and Women's Auxiliary for the Disabled American Veterans.
Polly Beam, 89, of Porterdale, passed away Nov. 20. The daughter of the late Edgar and Gracie Curley Frey, she was born in Dallas and has resided in Newton County since 1959. She was a member of Gaither's United Methodist Church. Ms. Beam was a loving mother, and will be missed by her family and friends.

Mr. Ernest Norris "Ernie" Johnson, age 55, of Covington passed away November 17, 2011 at Newton Medical Center.He was born March 3, 1956 in Ozark, Alabama at Fort Rucker to the late Ernest "Son" Johnson and Charlotte Johnson who survives him.Ernie was the former owner of Covington Radiator and was employed for many years at Bulldog Tire and Midas Muffler in Covington.He was of the Baptist faith and was preceded in death by his father Ernest "Son" Johnson and his brother Nathan Randall Johnson.
Ms. Maxine Cosby Harris departed this earthly life On Nov. 13. On April 26, 1967, Maxine Cosby was born in Morgan County, to the late Freeman Cosby, Sr. and Betty Clemons. The family later moved to Newton County, where she was educated in the Newton County School System. She was united in matrimony in 1997 to Mr. Larry Harris. The union was blessed with a beautiful daughter, Layonna.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Zelvia (Bishop) Pressley. Mr. Pressley enjoyed hot rod cars, drag racing, fishing and mechanical work. Lorene P. Rainey of Covington, passed away November 16, 2011, at the age of 96. Mrs. Rainey was a faithful member of Alcovy United Methodist Church, for over 30 years, and loved her church family dearly. She enjoyed watching the Atlanta Braves, reading, and working in the flower garden. Mrs. Rainey loved her family, and enjoyed cooking for them. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glen Rainey; and her parents, Monroe Sanford and Leona (Evans) Pair.

Mr. Frank A. McCrackin of Covington died November 10, 2011 at Rockdale Medical Center at the age of 86.He was born to the late Arthur C. and Georgia Ann Dunn McCrackin in Telfair County, GA, was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and was employed by Williams Brothers Lumber Co. for 35 years. He enjoyed hunting, gardening and mowing the yard at church. A cowboy at heart, he enjoyed westerns and horseback riding.Frank was a huge GA Bulldog fan, and loved spending time with his family. He is preceded in death by his son-in-law, Jimmy Knight.
