Mr. Frank A. McCrackin of Covington died November 10, 2011 at Rockdale Medical Center at the age of 86. He was born to the late Arthur C. and Georgia Ann Dunn McCrackin in Telfair County, GA, was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and was employed by Williams Brothers Lumber Co. for 35 years. He enjoyed hunting, gardening and mowing the yard at church. A cowboy at heart, he enjoyed westerns and horseback riding. Frank was a huge GA Bulldog fan, and loved spending time with his family. He is preceded in death by his son-in-law, Jimmy Knight.
Randall T. Wade, Sr., of Mansfield passed away November 9, 2011 at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta. He was 53 years old at the time of his death. He was preceded in death by his parents, Zinnie Aubury and Gladys Mildred (Blankenship) Wade. Mr. Wade enjoyed fishing, watching TV, traveling, and learning. He loved spending time with his family.

Mrs. Jewell T. Shelton of Mansfield passed away November 2, 2011 at Newton Medical Center. She was 97 years old at the time of her death. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Shelton, and parents, Arthur and Ophelia (Tanner) Callaway. Mrs. Shelton was a homemaker who enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening. She was a wonderful cook, with cakes being her specialty. Mrs. Shelton was a member of Mansfield Baptist Church, where she was a faithful nursery worker for many years. She loved being with her grand and great-grandchildren.
Mr. James R. "Jim" Coody, age 80, of Covington passed away November 1, 2011. He was born in Jersey, Georgia on January 23, 1931 to the late Newton and Ruth Carroll Coody. Mr. Coody was a member of Lovejoy United Methodist Church, an avid collector and a member of the VFW having served his country in, both the United States Navy and the Untied States Air Force.
Genell Harper passed away at her home in Oxford surrounded her family, October 31, 2011. She was 60 years old at the time of her death. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Robert Harper; parents, John Bailey and Mae (Finley) Tilson; and her mother-in-law, Susie J. Harper. Mrs. Harper loved spending time with her grandchildren, family, and friends. She enjoyed the time she spent at her lakehouse, as well as fishing, crafts, reading, bird and deer watching, and flowers. She also enjoyed Thursday night family dinner dates at El Charro.
Allie Brock Hawkins of Covington, passed away October 29, 2011, at the age of 92. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church. Mrs. Hawkins retired from Bibb Manufacturing Company after nearly 38 years of employment. She loved reading, flower gardening, and vegetable gardening. She was an excellent cook, and everyone especially enjoyed her black walnut cake and coconut pies. Mrs. Hawkins was preceded in death by her husband, Robert H. Hawkins; and her parents, William John and Allie (Shewbert) Brock.
LCpl Aaron Michael Fowler of Conyers, passed away October 27, 2011, at the age of 19. LCpl Fowler was on reserve status, having served in the United States Marine Corps. He was a 2010 graduate of Salem High School, in Conyers. LCpl Fowler was a black belt, in karate, and enjoyed riding ATV's, running, playing tennis, riding jet skis, traveling, and sky diving.
Kathleen Head of Covington, passed away October 27, 2011, at the age of 56. Ms. Head was a lifelong resident of Newton County, and graduate of Newton County High School. She was a member of County Line Baptist Church; and was employed by the Waffle House for several years. She loved flowers. Ms. Head was preceded in death by her father, Clarence T. Head; and her sister, Carolyn Farnham.
June Marett Stallings of Covington died October 24, 2011 at the age of 86. She was born in South Carolina to the late Paul Thomas and Ianthe June Casey Marett and was the widow of Jack McDaniel Stallings. June and Jack were married for 27 years and she worked for the Federal Government for 33 years. June enjoyed traveling and volunteering at the Hospital. She was a charter member of Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church. She loved her family dearly and will be missed by all who knew her.
Mildred Lucille Loh of Covington, formerly of Smyrna, TN, passed away October 25, 2011, at the age of 91. Mrs. Loh was a former employee of the U.S. Department of Agriculture; and was a member of Highland Heights Church of Christ, in Smyrna, TN, for more than 40 years. She moved to Covington, in 2009, to be with her daughter and son-in-law, Ceci and Wayne Mullins. Mrs. Loh was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin Barnhard Loh; and her parents, James Hershel and Addie Mai Patton.
Bobbie Bates Lev, 75, of Covington, passed away Oct. 20. She was born in Covington and, after graduating from Newton County High School in 1955, she moved to Atlanta where she married and raised her family. She returned to Covington in 2002. She retired from the Centers for Disease Control in 1996. Mrs. Lev was preceded in death by parents Laurie Curtis Bates and John Bates, her brother Joe Bates, cousin Janice Grizzard, nephew Michael Dunn and beloved granddaughter Samantha Lynn Armstrong.
Mr. Robert M. Whitley, 88, of Covington passed away on Thursday, October 25, 2011. He was born July 10, 1923 in Jersey, Georgia to the late Mason and Lessie Whitley. Mr. Whitley was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, great-great grandfather and brother. Mr. Whitley loved life and worked until he was 80 years old in the asphalt and paving business that he owned. He was preceded in death by his wife Mrs. Thelma Whitley in 2006.
Mr. H. Grady Hogan of Covington died October 22, 2011 at the age of 85. He was born in Madison, GA to the late Henry Grady Sr. and Mary Clair Hawk Hogan and was preceded in death by his wife Marianne Turner Hogan; brothers, W.C. Hogan, James Hogan & sister, Frances Tuell. Grady was a fan of the Atlanta Braves, enjoyed feeding the geese and ducks at Green Valley Farm, working in the yard and traveling.
