SFC Thomas H. Maloy of Walnut Grove, passed away May 5, 2015, at the age of 68. He was a 1965 graduate of Loganville High School. Shortly after graduation, SFC Maloy was drafted into the U.S. Army, and continued his service to his country until his retirement, in 1994, after 27 years of service. Mildred ‘Mrs. Millie’ Maloy

Mildred "Mrs. Millie" Maloy, a lifelong resident of Porterdale, passed away September 27, 2014, at the age of 95. She was a member of Porterdale Baptist Church and the Porterdale Woman's Club. Mrs. Millie was known for her sharp mind and quick wit, and therefore gained the nickname, "The General". She loved her family dearly and especially cherished her role as a grandmother. She was loved and will be greatly missed by her family. Mrs. Millie was preceded in death by her husband, Carl B. Maloy; parents, Leo and Candace Shaw; and her brother, Marshall "Pete" Shaw.

Mr. Dewey Cason

Mr. Dewey Cason, of Oxford passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family on July 10, 2011. He was born May 31, 1925 in Oxford to the late Charles A. and Sadie Ruth Bostwick Cason. Mr. Cason was a lifelong resident of Oxford and was a member of Gum Creek Presbyterian Church where he served faithful as an elder and member until his death. He served his country proudly in the United States Navy serving during World War II. Mr. Cason retired from Snapping Shoals EMC after 35 years of service.
