Mrs. Jean Miller, 83, of Covington, passed away April 3. She was an avid Atlanta Braves fan and enjoyed watching them play. Mrs. Miller loved spending time with her granddaughter and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Harry Miller; father Walter Bell; mother Cordie (Smith) Bell; step-father Rhodie Bailey; sisters Emma Hawse, Erma Broughman, Beulah Martin; and brothers Averille Bell, Alvie Bell, Roy Bell and Berlin Bell.
Mr. Hobert T. L. Davenport, 90, of Covington, passed away April 3. Mr. Davenport was born in Blue Ridge, the son of John and Lula (Ray) Davenport, and moved to Covington with his family in 1927. Alex Cooper, age 21, of Covington passed away March 29, 2013. He was born in Atlanta, Georgia on December 10, 1991 and grew up in Covington. Alex was a 2010 graduate of Alcovy High School and currently attended Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts. He served his country in the United States Army and was currently employed with Publix in Conyers. Alex was preceded in death by his grandparents James and Frances Minor and Robert and Janet Cooper.

Bobby Nichols, a longtime resident of Mansfield, died April 25 at Social Circle Nursing and Rehab. The son of the late Luther Nichols and Ellie Johnston Nichols, he was born in Newton County in 1929. Mr. Nichols owned and operated a barbershop on Ga. Highway 162 for 37 years, was a member of Mansfield United Methodist Church and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Gary L. Martin, 42, of Oxford, died May 7, 2009. Son of the late Eddie Michael and Mary Marie Swyers Martin, he enjoyed watching wrestling, and being with his friends in the band, "The Ultimate Addiction".
