Mrs. Brenda P. Sweat, age 74, of Covington, passed away Tuesday, February 17, 2015. She was born December 17, 1940 in Covington to Kermit and Jeanette Calvert Pratt who have preceded her in death. Mrs. Sweat worked for the City of Covington for many years and was a retired purchasing agent for DeKalb County. She was a member of County Line Baptist Church and was an avid reader, a seamstress and a gourmet cook. Mrs. Sweat was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was preceded in death by her brother Kermit Eugene and Mary Jo Pratt.

Mr. Lewis Hawthorne, age 98, a longtime resident of Mansfield passed away Saturday, May 21, 2011 at his residence. He was born in Valdosta, Georgia on April 11, 1913 to the late William and Mattie Craven Hawthorne. Mr. Hawthorne was a World War II veteran serving in the United States Navy and was a member of the Sea Bees. He was of the Methodist faith a member of Gaither's United Methodist Church. James Roger Gladden, born February 2nd, 1940, peacefully passed away at his home on Tuesday, May 17th, 2011. Roger was born in Shelby, North Carolina.
