James Goolsby was born Feb. 17, 1938 in Newton County, to Rose Bub Goolsby and Newt Cole. Mr. Goolsby grew up in Newton County. He was a graduate of the class of 1958 at R.L. Cousins High School. He was employed at Hercules for 27 years and received numerous awards for his services. Upon his retiring, he was a valued employee at Young Funeral Home for the past 18 years.

Mrs. Virginia "Ginger" Pogue, 67, of Covington, passed away Nov. 10. She obtained a master's degree in counseling from Liberty University and was the co-founder of Georgia Association of Play Therapy. She was a 40 year plus member of Covington Christian Church and enjoyed playing the violin, sewing and quilting. Mrs. Pogue was preceded in death by her parents Byron Russell and Dorothy Anne (Barnd) Lee and brothers Gordon R. Lee and Richard R. Lee.
Mr. Daryl Kiser, 63, of Buckhead, passed away Nov. 7. He attended Lakepoint Community Church, in Eatonton. He loved traveling, woodwork and spending time on the water. He was owner and operator of Plaza Computers, in Covington. Mr. Kiser was preceded in death by his mother Dorothy Marie (Patterson) Kiser.
Mrs. Betty Beagin, age 65, of Porterdale passed away November 9, 2012. She was born November 20, 1946 in Houston, Alabama to the late James Troy and Laura Henderson. Mrs. Beagin enjoyed gardening, reading and spending time with her family especially her great granddaughter McKenzii.
Mrs. Frances Aikens Drummond, 83, of Covington, passed away Nov. 9, at Saint Joseph's Hospital in Atlanta. Born Feb. 26, 1929, in Pike County, Drummond was the oldest daughter of William Curtis Aikens and Louise Vaughn Aikens.
Mr. Ralph Abercrombie Jr. passed away Nov. 8, at Abbey Hospice, in Social Circle, following a brief illness. He was preceded in death by his parents Ralph and Ruth Abercrombie and his only sister Angie Abercrombie.
Mr. Paul Winston Kitchens, the beloved husband of Kay Kitchens and the son of Paul and Gladys Kitchens, was born on May 19, 1943, in Macon. He passed on Nov. 2, as a steadfast integrity keeper to Jehovah God. Memorial services will be held tomorrow, Nov. 10, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 13075 Ga. Highway 36, Covington.
Mr. Lewis DeWayne Scott, 49, of Covington, died on Nov. 2. Born in Greenville, S.C., Mr. Scott was a former cabinet maker and of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his mother Virginia Sanders Schellenberg and her husband Walter, of Covington; his father Leonard R. Scott of Greenville; his wife Debbie Scott of Simpsonville; daughter Megan Scott of Simpsonville; granddaughter Alyssa Lucas; sister Cindy Scott Edwards of Deland, Fla.; brother Randy Scott of Piedmont; half-sister Michelle Scott of Lake Hartwell; half-brother Tommy Scott of Anderson; his long-time special friend Johnnie Sanders of Covington; and numerous cousins.
Mrs. Wilma Sorrow, age 90, of Covington passed away October 29, 2012 at Abbey Hospice in Social Circle. She was born July 8, 1922 in Canton, Georgia to the late William Asbury and Minnie Helton Gibbs. Mrs. Sorrow was a 75 year charter member of the Calvary Temple Holiness Church in Atlanta and in recent years attended The First Baptist Church of Covington. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, George Watson Sorrow, Jr., her husband of later years Reverend John Sorrow and her grandson Todd Watson Davis.
