Mr. Harold Glen Brown, 68, of Leesburg, Ala., passed away Sept. 27. Mr. Brown was a member of Hopewell Advent Christian Church. He was the son of Glen and Thelma Shew Brown.
Survivors include his wife Becky Ison Brown of Covington; daughter Tammy (Matthew) Schroeder; grandson Collin Schroeder; brother Gary (Sharon) Brown; niece Christy (Gary) Haggard; nephew Shannon (Erica) Brown.
Brenda Kay Turner, age 67, of Covington passed away October 3, 2012 at Emory University Hospital. She was born December 19, 1944 in Porterdale, Georgia to the late James and Mary Kelly Davis. Mrs. Turner enjoyed flowers and shopping, she was a longtime employee of Phil's Pawn Bank in Conyers working there for 25 years. She loved her family dearly; she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Mrs. Turner also loved her 5 Chihuahua's. She was preceded in death by her brother Jimmy Davis.
Mrs. Ida K. Davis, 96, of Covington passed away October 2, 2012 at Riverside Nursing Home. She was born March 16, 1916 in Milen, Georgia to the late George and Bonnie Hall Kent. Mrs. Davis was a retired school teacher who taught for 35 years and a large part of her career was here in Covington, first teaching at the old Covington School and then at Ficquett Elementary School until her retirement. Mr. Manuel B. Cordero, of Conyers, passed away Sept. 27 at Rockdale Medical Center. He was born in 1927 in Camaguey, Cuba, to Santos and Concha Hernandez Cordero. Mr. Cordero came to the U.S. as a professional baseball player, and his career was cut short due to injury. He worked in the trucking industry for 42 years and served as president of a local trucking company. He was an active member of Zion Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.

Mr. Nikki Wade, age 48, of Covington passed away September 22, 2012. He was born in Conyers, Georgia to the late Charles and Mary Jeane Wade on December 16, 1963; he grew up in Lithonia and attended Lithonia High School. Nikki enjoyed being outdoors, spending time at the lake boating, fishing, camping and being with family. He enjoyed watching the history channel and loved his animals; Jake, Trip and Opie.
Mrs. Teresa Dianne Mask, 53, of Covington, passed away Sept. 19. Mrs. Mask enjoyed writing fiction, reading all types of books, listening to music and working at her church. She loved the holidays, especially Christmas, but most of all, she loved her family. She lived for her grandchildren and cherished the time spent with them. She was preceded in death by her father Cleamon Knight and her sister Rita Smith.
Rebecca "Becky" Alexander, 88, of Covington, died Sept. 14. Mr. and Mrs. Alexander were the owners of Covington Jewelry and Alexander Memorials. She served as the director of food services for the Newton County School System. Her cinnamon rolls and chili were legendary with school children. She was a member of the Pilot Club and the Eastern Star. She loved her family. She loved to cook and also enjoyed traveling. She was preceded in death by her parents William Bryant and Lillie (Thomas) Dobbs; and her son Tommy Alexander.
Mrs. Helen Knight, 84, of Covington passed away September 15, 2012. She was born in Waycross, Georgia to the late Ocie Clark and Corrine Piper Lowe on February 25, 1928. Mrs. Knight was a member of Cornish Mountain Baptist Church; she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family. She also enjoyed crocheting, and ceramics. Mrs. Knight was preceded in death by her husband Mr. Bennie Knight.
Mrs. Naomi Lennis Huckeba Hankey, 99, daughter of Pendleton Harper Huckeba and Nancy Octavia Decker Huckeba, peacefully died Sept. 9 in Clinton, Tenn., while surrounded by family and loved ones. A wife, mother and friend, she was born in 1913 in Atlanta. She was preceded in death by her husband Paul Ehrhardt Hankey; sisters Ora Pauline Huckeba Armstrong, Floy Talitha Huckeba Blake, Ruth Lee Huckeba Norton, Claudia Mildred Huckeba Thorington and Ione Marie Huckeba Edmunds; and daughters Nancy Margretta Hankey and Mary Lennis Hankey Carter. Robert Walton Busby, 80, "Bob" and Norma Ruth Whitney Busby, 79, passed away this week and will be together and comfort each other in heaven as they did on earth. Bob died Tuesday, Sept. 4, unexpectedly and Norma passed away Sept. 6.
