James Douglas (Jimmy Nolan of Covington passed away Dec. 5 at Eastside Medical Center. The son of Allie Will and Dovie Allene Hamlin Nolan, he was born in 1935 in Covington. He was a member of Lovejoy United Methodist Church where he was very involved with the barbecue and grounds keeping. He was faithful with his attendance and service and was well-known for his character and kind and gentle spirit. His family was his main priority, and he will be greatly missed.

Bobby L. Smith Sr., 82, of Covington, passed away Nov. 30.

Mr. Smith worked for White's Department Store for 37 years and Cohen's Department Store for more than 10 years. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend to many. He was loved dearly by his family and friends, and highly respected in the community. He was a member of the Voice of Pentecost where he served as a trustee and Sunday school superintendent. He enjoyed camping, gardening, wood-working and singing. Mr. Joseph "Rip" Repetske, 94, of Oxford, passed away, Nov. 27. He was co-owner of Cowan and Cowan Electric Co. until his retirement. Mr. Repetske was a long-time member of Mt. Mrs. Geraldine Jolley, 74, of Covington, passed away Nov. 27, after a short battle with liver cancer. Mrs. Jolley had her own cleaning business but also worked as a cashier at Walmart and a deli attendant at Kmart. She loved the Lord and enjoyed fellowshipping and getting to know people. However, she was a stay-at-home mom until her children were teenagers, then she went to work as a special education paraprofessional at Social Circle Primary School. She was a loving mother and wife. James Doucette

Mr. James Arthur Doucette, 78, of Covington, passed away Nov. 25. He graduated from technical school in the field of electrical construction and maintenance. Mr. Doucette joined the U.S. Navy, and proudly served his country as Electrician's Mate Second Class, before being honorably discharged after four years. He was recruited by Trans-World Airlines, for Kennedy Space Center, to supervise air-conditioning crews as well as the installation, troubleshooting and maintenance of space oriented environmental control systems. With the phasing-down of the space program, Mr. Doucette returned to private industry as a self-employed, licensed, service contractor.
