George Marion Verhey of Conyers, GA died Thursday December 20, 2012 at his residence. He was born on April 5, 1918 in Pella, IA to James Henry and Laura Den Hartog Verhey. Ms. Linda Hammond, 65, of Covington, passed away Dec. 20. She enjoyed cooking, working in her yard and taking care of animals. Ms. Hammond loved the Lord Jesus Christ and because she had a heart of gold, she enjoyed helping those less fortunate, especially during the holiday season. Mrs. Carrie Helen Rand of Covington died on Dec. 12, at Rockdale Medical Center. She was born in 1929 in Enfield, N.C., the daughter of Johnny and Elizabeth Battle Richardson. Mrs. Rand was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a retired employee of Sisters of Charity Hospital, Buffalo, N.Y., and was an active member of Mount Olive Baptist Church of Buffalo. She loved to travel and watch and old black and white western movies.

Mr. John H. Park Jr., 82, of Covington, passed on to reunite with his parents John and Emma Lou Park and sister Mrs. Edward (Helen) Gattis on Dec. 15. He was born in 1930 in Covington. He retired after 38 years of service as a general superintendent with General Motors Corporation. Mr. Park was also a veteran of the United States Army.
